This is me 21 years ago at the start of my #recruitment journey.

From my childhood years spent playing ‘Grown ups’, I’ve always been a people person. So when it came to look for a job, there was no doubt in my mind that working with people had to play a role in my career.

I completed a trainee course with John Lewis Brent Cross, where I received my first promotion to Manager, before hitting the ‘big smoke’ & further development.

In October 1999 I walked into Parkside Recruitment with no IT skills not knowing what to do next & left with a Permanent Consultant role. This is where I cut my teeth and the world of recruitment became a passion.

I moved to Office Angels as a Temporary Consultant in 2002, this was such a dynamic role and I loved every minute, dropping lunch off to my temps & chocolate angels to my clients.

After a spell at Select Appointments as both a Temporary Consultant and Manager, I moved to the ManpowerGroup.

Here I spent 11 years as Business Manager, involved in various company initiatives as well as a Remote Manager role. Towards the end of my career with Manpower, various company strategies led to a role as Permanent Manager then Regional Manager in Reading.

Redundancy gave me to time to reflect on my career and my next move.
